MANORBIER exile Andrew Finn (32) achieved a personal best when he completed the London Marathon in a time of three hours, seven minutes and 48 seconds, placing him 1,793rd in a field of over 32,000.
"It's not every day you cross the finishing line in front of 30,000 other runners," he joked.
Andrew's run raised over £1,000 for children with leukaemia and he would like to thank friends from Manorbier and district whose sponsorship (via his Mum) contributed towards this total.
Andrew, who now works and lives in Hampshire, is already back in training for his next challenge. He will be travelling to South Africa in June to compete in the Comrades Race. This is an endurance event where runners have up to 11 hours to complete a hilly, 56-mile route from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. The heat and the distance will make it tough, but there will be a great sense of achievement at the finish.
Taking part in the Comrades Race will be a dream come true for Andrew and he is wished success in the event by all his friends.
