On Sunday, July 4, the Soroptimist International Club of Tenby and District held a garden party at the home of fellow member Mrs. Margaret Hughes and husband Graham.
The weather was wonderful, and the many visitors to the event were able to enjoy the Fairfield's lovely garden and the view across the North Beach to the harbour and Castle Hill. It could not have been a more perfect setting to hold a garden party.
The beneficiaries chosen by SI president Mrs. Jan Griffiths were the Wales Air Ambulance and the Tenby Scout Group, and despite many other events taking place that day, the club were delighted to raise £545.
The latter was helped considerably by the sponsorship of the event by Mrs. P. Phillips, of the Clarence Hotel; Mr. Thompson, Fiveways Garage; Mr. Simon Hunt, Somerfield Stores; Mr. Hugh Scale, Four Seasons; and Mrs. Jo Griffiths, of St. Florence. To all of them, members express their sincere thanks; also to Mr. and Mrs. Hughes for allowing them the use of their home; to Mr. Michael Hughes and Mr. Mark Griffiths for the 'furniture removals'; and to everyone who supported the event, making it so successful.
