With the lockdown in Wales recently extended Narberth’s Spar store took to the streets for a third week to bring some colourful characters to the doorsteps of households ordering deliveries.
After Mickey and Minnie Mouse, served the community on week one, and Olaf from Frozen took on duties the following week, last Thursday it was the turn of Peppa Pig!
With home delivery a high demand service and continuing to grow day by day, the staff received an amazing 28 calls/emails, with 22 of these being specifically for Peppa Pig.
The instore team led by Rachel Wadley, with assistance from Ana Martins, handled the orders, and Kayleigh Kitts donned the Peppa Pig guise for deliveries.
Areas such as Whitland, Narberth, Ludchurch, Kilgetty, Templeton, Clunderwen and Haverfordwest were covered for another busy day.
“We delivered gifts from nans, unable to see grandchildren, birthday treats, to those lucky enough to have a birthday on Peppa Pig day, had a dance in gardens, bringing lots of fun, smiles and laughter to the community, as well as a couple of tears, but we managed to create and captured memories to last a lifetime for some during this pandemic,” said Kayleigh.
“Overall, the day was a massive success, and there was a lot of positive feedback and excitement to see next week’s character.”
As it stands, the store have a voting poll on the Spar Narberth Facebook page to decide on Thursday’s character, with Shrek currently in the lead, followed closely by Iggle Piggle.
“With a lot of requests and high demand for Paw Patrol, we are currently looking into this and on the look out for other costumes,” added Kayleigh.
Spar Team would like to thank all customers, regulars, old and new, and those supporting characters day, for their continued support throughout this pandemic.
