For the past few years the village of Pentlepoir has had a lovely playground for the children. The playground was also very visible to Pentlepoir School pupils as it was adjacent to the school but unfortunately inaccessible because of the busy road.
The school governing body then approached East Williamston Community Council to ask if a gate could be put in place linking the school with the playground, the assurance being that the playground facilities would only be used under strict teacher supervision and at all other times the gate would remain locked.
The community council's reply was very positive and they agreed to fund the gate completely themselves.
This has now been put into place and the photograph shows some of the pupils from the school and the playgroup enjoying the swings.
The school would like to thank East Williamston Community Council for their generosity and support.
