A playpark in Pennar has been given a makeover.

Thanks to the Friends of Pennar, red, blue, yellow and green paint has been used to brighten the Owen Street park which has become a real meeting place after school for children and parents to socialise.

Around 20 volunteers from Friends of Pennar (Pennar Community School’s PTA) and Pennar Hall committee turned out last Thursday to undertake the work.

“Thanks go to Neil McCarthy from the council who gave us the paint, put the new bin in and who is also trying to get us new play equipment,” said chair of Friends of Pennar, Michele Wiggins, who organised the work.

“Also thank you to Tesco for providing refreshments.

“The painting has made such a difference to a small part of Pennar - thank you to everyone involved. I am very pleased how great it looks.”
