A meeting of the Pennar and Bufferland Community Association was held at the Alma Inn, Bufferland, recently.
Chairman Christine John welcomed members to the meeting, the others present being Mike Cray, Maureen Colgan, Helen John, Ron Selby and Tony Wilcox.
The minutes of the February meeting were read and approved, with the following matters arising:
PAVS - Helen reported that she was waiting to hear from Caroline Mamara in relation to the report following her visit to the last meeting.
AGM - The usual notices had been entered in the paper.
Treasurer’s report: Maureen Colgan reported the account remained at £238.19.
A number of matters were discussed under ‘any other business’, including:
Funding for grass cutting - Tony Wilcox advised that it was now time to apply to the Town Council for funding to assist with the cutting of the grass on the Village Green. Helen would write to the Town Council to see if they would be in a position to assist again this year.
Vandalism - There had been a spate of vandalism over the weekend with a string of graffiti over numerous walls, buildings, signs and vehicles from Pennar down into town.
Caravan in Fleet Street - There was a boat and caravan which appeared to have been abandoned in Fleet Street. Tony Wilcox advised that it was likely they would both be removed in the near future.
Date of next meeting: The next meeting, the AGM, would be held at the Alma Inn on Tuesday, April 9, at 7.30 pm
