At the September meeting, chairman, Clr. Maureen Colgan congratulated Rev. Roger Hart and his bride on the occasion of their wedding on Saturday, September 13, and gave the association's best wishes for their future happiness.
Clr. Colgan also reported the sad news that Peter England, one of the community association's long-time members, had passed away.
Unsafe routes in the community were discussed.
Howard Williams made a plea for better maintenance of the pavements in the Pennar area. He reported that a local resident had recently suffered facial injuries after she tripped and fell when walking along the pavement on the west side of Hill Street.
Ron Selby (secretary) added that the pavements and kerbsides of the roads were often partially obstructed by cautionary road signs, such as 'men at work' etc., and they were rarely weighted with 'sandbags' to keep them upright in the high winds that have been experienced lately.
He went on to mention the road works being carried out at Bethany corner where he had to re-erect a large 'three-way traffic control' sign that had blown down and was lying face down in the road, before he could turn into Treowen Road from Presely View.
