Following the recent wildfire at Morfa Bychan, Pendine Community Council has called an Extraordinary Meeting for tonight to urgently discuss the situation and consider what preventative measures can be put in place to reduce the risk of this happening again.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 19, at 6.30pm at the Museum of Speed [Please note: the venue has changed from The Caban].
The Community Council is inviting residents, local stakeholders and interested members of the community to attend.
The National Trust will be represented at the meeting, alongside the local Cabinet Member, MP and MS, providing an important opportunity for residents and stakeholders to raise their concerns and contribute to discussions about the way forward.

A spokesperson for the Community Council stated: “The recent wildfire has caused considerable concern and distress within our community and has highlighted the very real risks associated with prolonged dry weather, fires and overnight camping at Morfa Bychan.
“The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the options available and consider what practical preventative measures can be put in place as a matter of urgency.
“We hope as many residents, relevant organisations and stakeholders as possible will attend.
“This is an important opportunity for the community to come together and ensure that local concerns are heard and that we work collectively towards finding a solution,” they added.
