Pendine travelled to Mariners at Pembroke Dock who were promoted last season to Division One. On a fine day with the green in excellent condition, rink one saw Malcolm Thomas's rink against Gerrard Thomas's four, and at half-way, Pendine were just ahead 10-7, but on the last end were one down and shots down and skip Malcolm smashed up the head with his last wood to get two shots and win 18-17. On rink two, skip Mal Evans was drawn against David Halwards's lads, and at tea, was 8-12 down, but got back to 17-17 on the 20th end, only to drop three on the last end. Rink three had David King Thomas's rink against Norman Firman's four and the former's lead John Jones and second David Morgan were in good form and provided the rink with a good platform being 17-5 ahead at 11 ends. They then lost on four ends, but ran out 26-13 winners. Rink four saw Stewart King Thomas's four opposed by Graham Bann's rink. It was close around 12 ends, but the Pendine rink, with the veteran Emyr Williams at lead, finished well winning 22-13. Pendine picked up 12 points, to the Mariners two.
