PENDINE 80 (8 pts.) FISHGUARD 75 (6)

On Saturday last, all rinks were occupied at Pendine when both the ladies team (two rinks) and the men's team (four rinks) were up against Fishguard who are our rivals in the lower half of Division One.

It was a fine day afternoon and a very keen and close match ensued.

On rink three, Mal Evans's four faced Richard Thomas's rink, and at tea, Pendine were up 12-5, but Fishguard picked up 13 shots thereafter to win 18-17.

Rink four had Malcolm Thomas's rink versus Chris Lewis's lads, and at tea, the former was up 12-8, then all the rink improved to run out 25-15 winners to carry the game to Pendine.

Rink five had David King Thomas's oldies against Davo (young boy) Hughes, assisted by former Haverfordwest player Dai Crouch, and at te,a were 10-7 up and the scores remained in a similar vein until the end with a win to Davo's boys 18-15.

Rink six had brother Stewart King Thomas's quartet versus Tom Jones's four who started very well being 19-6 up at tea, but Stewart's boys improved dramatically thereafter to only lose 23-24.
