At recent monthly meeting of the Penally Village Hall Management Committee, it was reported how their new hall project was progressing.

The committee have now finalised plans to upgrade the facilities of the hall to meet with the new regulations in place for the disabled.

These plans include disabled access, refurbishment of the toilets, provision of a new committee room, which will provide further scope for letting, improved storage area and access, and improvements and re-fit of the kitchen.

Unfortunately the committee were refused lottery funding, however undeterred, the committee have applied for other funding. The hall has a good letting record and support from all the organisations who use it.

To launch their project, and with the hope of raising some 'match' funding, the committee have organised a raffle, which will be drawn in October.

The first tickets will be on sale on tomorrow (Saturday) when the committee will be holding a coffee morning and village exhibition in the hall from 10.30 am until 4 pm.

Plans for the new project will be on view, and most of the organisations who use the hall will have exhibitions.

It is hoped that as many villagers as possible will make an effort to call in to see the plans and support their local amenity.
