The November meeting was truly a fascinating experience. Pat Bean, of Springfield Market Garden, spoke of her and her husband's walking holiday in Ethiopia. The journey was very clearly explained and members received a very clear insight into the culture and the lives of the people.

All of this was beautifully illustrated with a slide show showing the beautiful mountainous scenery, the exotic flora, the buildings, including churches carved out of the rock, and the people, whose children looked so happy.

Pat also brought along various artefacts, including some beautiful woven material and some utensils that they use.

It was a very informative, graphic and entertaining talk and, judging by the questions asked, could have continued for a lot longer. Thank you again Pat.

Leader, Dorothy Durdin and Doreen Axon provided the tea on this occasion.

June Glennerster ably conducted the service.

The next meeting will be the Christmas dinner today (Friday).
