Penally residents are hoping that now it has been proven that other sites have been offered to Airwave o2, that they will honour their promise to John and Kit Davies, of The Harriet Davies Trust, and apply for the Tetra mast in a more isolated location! "Even the police have been identifying other sites to Airwave which give them suitable coverage... which so far have fallen on deaf ears!" said Ann Dassen, of Penally Community Council. "All along, Airwave have insisted this is the only site for them, but this is now clearly untrue. Siting a Tetra mast so close to such vulnerable children who are more prone to having fits and needing electronic equipment, is really not necessary... it needs to be hidden in the middle of a wooded copse, in isolated farmland! "We have also sent written proof to the members of the planning committee showing that when decisions are made on valid planning grounds, costs can not be awarded against the county council on appeal," added Clr. Dassen. "We really hope that the mast can finally be refused. "The planning committee meeting will be at County Hall next Tuesday, July 25, at 10 am. Please come and support us!" Sign the list in Penally Post Office if you either require or can offer transport, or telephone Ann Dassen on 01834 844957.
