Penally Village Hall is the venue for a major fund-raising event in aid of the Asian Tsunami Appeal. Many villagers from Penally, near Tenby, are already making preparations for a coffee morning with cake stall, books and bric-a-brac included. Help also comes from the wider community, with volunteers from the whole area involved in the event. Organiser Margaret Banfield held a successful coffee morning in her home last year, raising a large sum for the Ty Hafan hospice. This time she is grateful to the Penally Village Hall Management Committee for allowing the use of the hall free of charge, enabling every penny raised to go directly to the victims of the recent disaster. The coffee morning takes place this Tuesday, February 1, from 10 am to 12.30 pm. Tea, coffee and biscuits are included in the £1 entry fee. Everyone is invited to 'choose to feel for those in need'. At a recent meeting of helpers it was agreed that all proceeds will go to START, the project started by Paul and Jane Cowper to rebuild the Sri Lankan village of Tangalle. More details about this project will be available to see on the day. Margaret can be contacted on (01834) 845643.
