Choir Coffee Morning

There will be coffee and mince pies and a raffle at the Penally Church choir's coffee morning. They welcome everyone on Thursday, December 10, to Penally Church Room, 10 - 12 noon. This enthusiastic choir needs to raise funds for its expanding programme which includes new music, as well as the much-loved and traditional.

Celebrating 50 years

This year's carol service on December 22, at 7 pm, is a special anniversary.

Fifty years ago, the late Wilfrid Harrison brought together singers and the organist was Ken Jones and Bill Davis planned the service. Dr. John Harrison, directing St. Mary's choir, joins with Penally Church choir, directed by Diana Lunn.

Dr. Harrison, in this month's benefice magazine 'The Net', tells the story of this important event which began 50 years ago.

Any readers who may have been there then are very welcome to join with the choirs and congregation and for punch and mince pies afterwards.

On December 6, the church celebrates its Patronal Festival at a benefice sung evensong at 4 pm.

The popular crib service will be at 6.30 pm on Christmas Eve.
