At Penally Church on Sunday, February 10, there was a real buzz as the congregation heard that their dedicated team of pancake makers, as well as others, had raised £180 on 'Super Pancake Tuesday'. Church and village clearly prefer a morning to come together and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. There was a buzz too of expectancy as the congregation, one of the five church partners in the Tenby Rectorial Benefice, prepares to welcome the new Rector, his wife and family. The Bishop of St. David's instituted and installed the Rev. Andrew Davies as Rector on Tuesday, February 19. The service was attended by the choir singing with St. Mary's choir and members of his former parish at Pembroke Dock in the Carew group. This Sunday, February 24, at 10 am, there will be a special Benefice Eucharist to mark the new shared inclusive ministry between the clergy, people and churches serving this area. There is no service at Penally. There was more good news, too, that Diana Lunn, Penally church organist, is forming a small choir to perform on Easter Sunday morning. Already there is a most encouraging response. If you are interested, phone 01834 845277. All abilities welcome! Penally Church looks forward to creative new initiatives, worshipping and working together.
