Advent lunch: Tenby's lifeboat will be a popular choice for this year's Advent lunch at Penally Church Room, December 5, 12-2 pm. The Church Room will be well-filled for this year's fund-raising and attractive simple meal. Home-baked bread rolls from the Paddock, selected cheeses and fruit and by popular request, home-made pickles from the west end of the village. This annual fund-raising event brings people together who enjoy the company and who will contribute generously to the service provided by the RNLI, their lifeboat serving seafarers, and many others too.

Celebrating St. Nicholas: Penally Church celebrates St. Nicholas on December 7. The seaside church and village are linked with the sea. One of their patron saints is Nicholas. Nicholas, from Myra in Turkey, built in the fourth century a lighthouse to warn and to guide seafarers into the port. He is remembered especially for his hospitality and generosity among young people. Santa Claus is identified with Father Christmas and there are local customs in some parts of Europe. Penally Church has two patron saints, the other being Teilo, a local Welsh saint with links elsewhere.

St. Nicholas will be remembered at a special benefice service in words and music on December 7, at 4 pm. The four other churches of the rectorial benefice will emphasise their togetherness in worship and afterwards in sharing Penally church's hospitality over a glass of wine.

Service of carols and readings: This takes place on Tuesday, December 16, at 7 pm, when for the first time Penally Church choir will be taking part, as well as the choir of St. Mary's. The service celebrates the faith that God came into the world to visit and redeem, bringing hope and love in uncertain times.
