The club had another very enjoyable afternoon of bridge on Monday, with 10 pairs playing 27 hands of duplicate.

One of those hands totalled a staggering 30 points for all those sitting 'East'; unfortunately 'West' only had one point, what an anti-climax.

The top pair, and not for the first time recently, scoring 61.11 per cent, were Christine Wilson and Derek 'Tommo' Thompson.

Hang on tight to those reins you've got him on Christine.

In second on 59.26 per cent were Mike Taylor with Jeff Thomas and in third on 53.7 per cent were Jan Russell and Mary Jones.

After a show of hands, it was decided to give the bridge a miss next week, bank holiday Monday, but normal service will resume on September 2.
