Just eight club stalwarts prised themselves away from the Easter television and braved the bitter weather to enjoy some bridge.

With so few pairs, it was fun rather than competition, but one pair had so much fun they came top - well done Mary Jones and Jan Russell with 58.33 per cent. John and Sue Reid came equal second with Celia Rossiter and Mags Davies on 54.17.

John and Sue, who kindly donated chocolate eggs, will be back in the summer and if that means warmer weather, the sooner the better.
