At the Wales YFC Field Day held recently at Glynllifon, Eryri, Pembrokeshire YFC were the overall winners of the event of the first time for many years.

Caroline Lewis, Llysyfran YFC was the winner of the junior stock judge of the year competition for the second consecutive year, with Andrew Phillips, South Pembs. YFC as runner-up.

The junior stock judging team, which also included Sian Bryan, Clunderwen YFC and Tom Rees, Keeston YFC, were the overall winners.

Caroline will go forward to represent Wales YFC at the England and Wales finals at the European Dairy Event in September.

The senior stock judging team were placed second. The team comprised of Edward Hartt, Clunderwen YFC, Richard Davies, Eglwyswrw YFC and Emma James and Catrin Vaughan, both from Llysyfran YFC.

Llysyfran YFC represented the county in the efficiency with safety competition and were the overall winners of the competition.

Michael Williams gained a personal hat trick when he won the award for the highest placed individual competitor in the first aid section.

The Llysyfran team of Michael Williams, Daniel Evans, Daniel Thomas and William James will represent Wales YFC at the Royal Show.

Other competitions held on the day included the ATV challenge when Mark Davies, Clunderwen YFC and Ross Griffiths, Llysyfran YFC represented the county, and the design a website competition where Catrin Vaughan, Llysyfran YFC was the county's representative.

County Young Farmer of the Year, Marc Davies, Clunderwen YFC, represented the county in the senior member of the year competition and Stuart Williams, Llysyfran YFC was the county's finalist in the Wales YFC junior member of the year competition.
