Saundersfoot Sports Club (sponsored by LG Leisure and Get Stuffed Pizza Co) travelled to Pembroke Dock on Monday evening to play their latest league match, against the Star Club, and were 3-2 winners.

The first frame saw Darren Morgan play S. Bourne. Darren started the brighter, but soon got bogged down. As the frame got to the colours, he was nine points behind, and his opponent then cleared up to leave Darren distraught.

The second frame saw a returning Steve Cook play F. Cassidy, but not having played since before Christmas, he struggled on what was a very slow table.

But knowing Steve, he wasn't going to give up without a fight and as the frame got to the colours it was all level in scores. He then fell nine points behind with only pink and black left, which he duly potted to win by the narrowest of margins.

The third frame saw Dave Wooles play D. Griffiths. Dave was in good form after the previous week's performance, and this was clearly carrying on. He took a commanding early lead and by the time they reached the colours he was 33 points up and the frame was won.

The fourth frame saw Mark Cleevely play L. Lowe. Mark has been playing well of late, but on this table, he was not able to find his usual form.

However, he battled on and as they got to the colours, was two points to the good, but a clearance by his opponent made it 2-2 in frames.

The last frame saw out of form Glyn Davies play L. Goff. What can be said again about Glyn! Somehow he performed a master class of potting, which included a 33 break (who was this man - surely it was not Glyn), to take the final frame and seal a 3-2 win for the team.

NB: Well done to Mark Cleevely on winning his singles match.
