Tenby and County Club (sponsored by LG Leisure and Get Stuffed Pizza Co) played host to Hakin Social on Monday night and were 4-1 winners.
The first frame saw Dave Wooles take on J. Walters. Dave started the brighter, opening up a small lead, which he extended midway through. He was in determined mood and by the time they reached the colours, he was in an unassailable lead and closed out the frame to win comfortably.
The second frame saw an in-form Steve Cook play J. Jarret. Steve was still in tremendous nick and won at a canter.
The third frame saw Kevin James play D. Oughton. Kevin started slowly and midway through it was still neck and neck. Kevin was playing a very experienced player, but he kept battling on and by the time the frame got to the colours, he was just one point in the lead. He continued to pot well, though, and eventually won the game on the pink.
The fourth frame saw captain Glyn Davies take on S. Roberts. Still in good form, Glyn opened well, before being pegged back. This was not one of his better frames and he was completely outplayed, until the colours, when he woke up and potted the last three balls to stun his opponent and win by a point.
The last frame saw steward Malcolm John play N. Watts. Keen to avenge his only loss in the cup, Malcolm started the livelier, but was soon behind following his opponent's good potting. Mac is a tenacious player, however, and will not give in lightly, but this was one battle he would have to concede and, although battling on, it was to no avail.
