Pembrokeshire Ramblers last Sunday needed sunglasses to cope with the bright sun low in the autumnal sky, with just a light cool breeze to add a further glow to the cheeks.
The exhilarating weather was the proper accompaniment to the exhilarating scenery, along the coast from Freshwater East to Stackpole Quay, and then over to the lily ponds and up to the site of Stackpole House, which is where they stopped for their picnic lunch.
After lunch, it was across the 'Hidden' bridge up through Stackpole Cheriton woodlands to Stackpole Church. From there it was along the quiet country lanes through East Trewent back to Freshwater East. About six miles overall, much enjoyed by the 19 members who turned out.
This Sunday, there will be a long walk (between 10 and 14 miles), starting at 10.30 am, meeting at the Rosebush car park behind Tafarn Sinc. For further details ring 01646 682520.
