Due to the recent very wet weather, there were fewer than normal entries for the Find of the Month competition. However, Josie Thomas was a worthy winner of three categories with a 1819 George III Shilling, a 17th Century Horse Mount and a George V and Queen Mary Medallion. Allan Grice won the club search entries with a Georgian 8oz Trade Weight. The club has recently been approached by a family from the USA who believe that the American dog- tag, found by chairman Jack Tree some 10 years ago had belonged to their father who had lost it while he was posted in Pembrokeshire in the early 1940s. It is hoped that it will soon be returned to the descendant's of its original owner. At next month's meeting on the August 2, members have been asked to display artefacts from the Victorian, Stone Age, and Bronze Age periods, as well as tokens to be recorded for the new book. Also, Mark Lodwick from The National Museum of Wales will be the guest speaker and will be happy to identify members finds.
