Pembrokeshire police have been raising the profile of hate crime.

Hate crime is any offence committed against a person or property which is motivated by the offender's hatred of people because they are seen as being different due to race, religion, sexuality, gender or have a disability.

Hate crime hurts, it can be confusing and frightening. By reporting it, you may be able to prevent these crimes from happening to someone else.

To coincide with the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender (LGBT) History Month, Haverfordwest Neighbourhood Policing Teams set-up a stand at Pembrokeshire College.

Temporary Chief Inspector Amanda Diggens said: "The aim of the stand was to raise the profile of hate crime and ensure people know that we take it seriously.

"We want to encourage victims to come forward and report these incidents to the police so that we can do something about it.

"If you or someone you know has been a victim of hate crime, please report it, and help make a difference.

"Soon we will have specially trained hate crime officers on the division who will add to the support that we already offer.

"To report a hate crime, call 0845 330 2000. To give information anonymously, 'phone Crime Stoppers on 0800 555111."
