LOCAL photographer David Wilson has scooped an award in the prestigious Welsh Salon of Photography 2004.
David, who was among eight individual winners drawn from 226 entrants who submitted 1,500 photographs, won the WDA Trophy for the Best Print on Industry in Wales.
His winning black and white print, entitled 'Neighbour from Hell', depicts a Pembrokeshire farmhouse dwarfed by Texaco refinery.
David, who lives in Llangwm and is a member of Tenby and District Camera Club, was given his award by Jane Hutt, Assembly Member for Health and Social Services. The presentation was made at the Salon's official launch at the St. Donats Arts Centre in the Vale of Glamorgan on April 3.
David would like to thank all the members of Tenby and District Camera Club for their help and encouragement which contributed greatly to his winning the award.
The Salon is organised by the Welsh Photographic Federation and is entered by amateur and professional photographers from across Wales. The exhibition will be held at St. Donats until Saturday, May 15.
The judges were John A. Long (ARPS, DPAGB, Hon. PAGB), Terrick Meakin (ARPS, APAGB) and Brian Mogford (ARPS, LBIPP, LMPA).
