Volunteer managers in Pembrokeshire are the first in Wales to successfully complete the Advanced Certificate in Volunteer Management, a level three course accredited by LANTRA.   Course participants attended six one-day workshops covering all aspects of volunteer recruitment and management, and submitted a detailed case study for assessment.  The course was organised by the Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services (PAVS), with financial support from Age Alliance Wales, and delivered by tutor, Julie Thomas.     Caroline Graham, Volunteering Pembrokeshire manager, warmly congratulated course participants on their success. "The Pembrokeshire Volunteer Organisers Network (PVON) meets regularly to encourage best practice in recruiting and managing volunteers. PVON members identified the need for this course and we were able to work with partners to put it on right here in Pembrokeshire. Feedback has been very positive and I'm sure participants will use what they have learned to improve practice within their organisations." PAVS has just published the new Learning in the Voluntary Sector training programme, offering courses at discounted rates for voluntary and community groups.   The autumn programme includes stress management, coaching and mentoring, trusteeship, effective meetings and many more.
