After weeks of waiting, the opening event of the 2009 Pembrokeshire Karting Championship kicked-off at Carew Karting recently.

The organisers would like to thank all participants and spectators who made the day such a success.

With the sun beating down on the track, 22 drivers raced hard for the honour of being the county's finest racer!

Ultimately, it was Adam Jones, of Pembroke Dock, who was victorious after passing Johnston's Colin Mason on the final corner of the final lap. Adam Evans, also from Pembroke Dock, drove solidly to claim the third spot of the podium.

The day saw all drivers setting fastest laps, with only a second separating the fastest from the slowest!

With the atmosphere full of competitive spirit, the championship is anyone's for the taking!

The next round will be held at Carew Karting on June 2 at 11 am.
