THE Pembrokeshire Coast is captured in a stunning new pictorial celebration of Wales. Landscape Wales Tirlun Cymru, is published this week by Graffeg and is the Welsh Books Council chosen book of the month.

The book features many pictures from the 186-mile Pembrokeshire coastline, and in total contains more than 130 breathtaking images of the landscape of Wales from Anglesey to the Severn, Wye and Usk Valleys.

Written by David Williams and with a foreword by Bryn Terfel CBE, Landscape Wales Tirlun Cymru is one of the most inspirational studies of the Welsh countryside ever published.

The breathtaking photography has been supplied by more than 30 photographers from Photolibrary Wales, the photographic resource headed by Steve Benbow. Every image seeks to shed a new light on locations that range from the well-known to the less explored.

Travel and activity suggestions are given for each location, allowing readers to follow in the tracks of photographers, while the book also contains maps and a special feature on the geology of Wales written by Professor Michael Bassett, National Museums and Galleries of Wales.

"This publication represents thousands of hours on location by Wales' most talented photographers, who have produced a series of images that are simply stunning," explained Peter Gill, of Graffeg.

"We have produced a book which will appeal to readers that are new to the Welsh countryside and perhaps more importantly deliver to the people of Wales a book that encapsulates our nation's beauty and perhaps challenges some of their preconceived ideas about how our countryside looks and works."

Landscape Wales Tirlun Cymru is the second book to be produced by Graffeg following the highly successful Cardiff book that captures the many faces of this constantly evolving city, which was published earlier this year to widespread acclaim.
