Pembrokeshire's county champions featured prominently in the last rounds of the Welsh finals at Llandrindod Wells last week.
But alas, only one came home with a trophy.
Teenager Ryan Thomas, of Whitland, and now a member of Haverfordwest BC, was the toast of the county after he won the Under 18s singles. He beat Rhys Tomlinson, of Glyncorrwg, West Glamorgan, 21-19.
Andrew Muskett and Phil Carpenter, of Tenby, were runners-up in the pairs after being beaten by M. Evans and David Axon, of Penylan, South Glamorgan, 21-13.
And there was yet more disappointment for Phil who with clubmates John Roberts, John Baggott and Simon Evans bowed out of the rinks after a 23-18 defeat to Ian Slade and co from Cross Keys in the semi-final. He also lost in his second game of the singles to Jon Tomlinson, of RTB Ebbw Vale, 21-18.
Elsewhere, John Jenkins, of Saundersfoot, won his opening round in the Over 60s singles, as did Marley Hughes and Mike Richards, of Haverfordwest, in the Over 60s Pairs, while Ryan Thomas and Richard O'Leary, Tony Wilks and P.D.S. Jenkins, also of Haverfordwest, just failed to get through their opening games in the Under 25s and triples, respectively.
