Continuing their monthly wanderings during the light evenings, members were entertained in July by the Coastlands Coastal History Group on what had been the domestic site on the now disused RN airfield at Dale. This group of enthusiasts have amassed an enormous archive of its short operational history, the many aircraft types, the squadrons, and not least the personnel whose 2000 presence must have caused quite a stir in Dale village. Members were most impressed at the dedication, the number of buildings still standing and the sheer scale of the airfield. The group welcome visitors by arrangement - details can be found on http://www.dale">www.dale- coastlands-history.org.uk. Aviation Group members are reminded of another early start in August - meet at 6.30 pm at Police HQ, Carmarthen.
