Pembrokeshire volunteers were celebrated at an online Award Ceremony, organised by PAVS (Pembrokeshire association of Voluntary Services), and kindly supported by South Hook LNG.

Approximately 70 volunteers and guests were able to attend the ceremony and every volunteer who was nominated was able to enjoy some sweet treats (including Tan Y Castell Welsh Cakes) provided in their goody bag while watching the awards and the excellent interval entertainment provided by Pembrokeshire Music Service (showcasing the talents of Pembrokeshire’s young musicians).

Sue Leonard, Chief Officer at PAVS, opened the ceremony and expressed her thanks to all those giving up their time to volunteer in Pembrokeshire, in what are still very challenging times.

This year there were seven categories of awards. Sue introduced each of the finalists and then the nominators let everyone know why they had nominated that volunteer (or group of volunteers) in a pre-recorded video. Sue said, ‘The videos really highlighted the extraordinary contribution that groups and individuals, through their volunteering, make to local communities.’ These uplifting, inspiring, stories will be available on the PAVS YouTube Channel https://tinyurl.com/pavstv

Mariam Dalziel, South Hook LNG’s PR Manager, commented “We are pleased to have continued our support for the Volunteering Awards, which celebrate the real difference that dedicated Volunteers are making in communities across Pembrokeshire.”
