The Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club Pembrokeshire Group will be holding a public meeting on February 7 at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel, Narberth, at 7.30 pm.
Pembrokeshire has a strong motorcycle riding population, and a pool of potential new vintage and classic motorcycle club members.
The vision is to create a club initially, then after one year's probation period obtain full section status within the National Vintage Motorcycle Club of the UK.
As part of this organisation, the club members will be able to attend events locally, as well as nationally.
Their intent would be to hold monthly meetings of approximately two-two-and-a-half hour duration, and they hope that these would be stimulating and enjoyable. Food and beverages would be made available to members.
In addition, it is hoped to have talks on both motorcycle and other subjects, visits, quizes and themed nights etc.
Motorcycles will need to be pre-1987 to be eligible to be part of the vintage and classic scene and the organisers welcome anyone with an interest in vintage and classic motorcycles to go along and make new friends and find a new hobby.
A committee will be elected at the meeting, but the founder members have experience which runs into the third generation of vintage motorcycling. Also members have past experience in organising events such as the Welsh National Vintage Rally held in Saundersfoot every September.
One event which has been organised this year is a classic motorcycle weekend, June 1-4. Details available at the meeting.
The aim is to establish and encourage camaraderie amongst like-minded people and so extend interest in the vintage motorcycle club and therefore, vintage and classic motorcycling in Pembrokeshire and beyond.
