Pembrokeshire has been recognised in the annual ‘Wales in Bloom Awards’ once again, with Saundersfoot, Tenby and Fishguard all featuring in the list of those to pick up accolades for 2026.
Community groups, local authorities, businesses and volunteers from across Wales gathered in Talgarth to celebrate their achievements at the 2026 Wales in Bloom Awards.
While gardeners often reflect on a season of rain or cold weather, 2026 presented a very different challenge. One of the hottest and driest summers on record saw volunteers spending much of the season watering and caring for displays to ensure plants and green spaces continued to thrive.
Their dedication was rewarded with an abundance of colourful floral displays, environmental projects and community initiatives that impressed judges throughout Wales.
The ceremony was held at Talgarth Town Hall, where guests were welcomed by the warm hospitality of the local community.
Competition in the Hotel Frontage Display category was once again exceptionally close.
The Giltar Hotel and The Atlantic Hotel, both in Tenby, achieved Gold awards.
However, the category winner was The Giltar Hotel, with the judges impressed by all elements, stating: ‘The design was innovative especially the beach combed elements that are transformed into decorative features.’
In the category for communities with a population of fewer than 12,000, Abergwaun ac Wdig /Fishguard and Goodwick achieved a Silver Gilt award and were named Category Winners 2026.

The judges statet that they were: ‘ impressed by the sustainable planting through out the town supplemented in mant areas by colourful baskets and containers. The plot converted into a sub tropical garden was quite superb and was a perfect example of a front garden.’
For the first time in the history of the competition, every entry in the Caravan, Camping and Holiday Home Site categories achieved a Gold award, reflecting the exceptionally high standards being maintained across Wales' tourism sector.
The Caravan, Camping and Holiday Home Sites (Over 100 Units) category attracted eight high-quality entries.
With standards exceptionally high throughout the category, the judges faced a particularly challenging task. In the end, Tenby’s Kiln Park Holiday Centre and Tree Tops Caravan Park could not be separated and were named joint category winners.
One of the most competitive categories in the competition, the Large Village Category once again showcased exceptional standards and welcomed several new entries.
Saundersfoot received a Silver Gilt awards, but it was Usk that secured the category title for the 43rd time.

Wales in Bloom is proud to recognise those individuals and groups who go above and beyond to make a lasting difference to their communities and local Bloom entries, and David Cox was recognised with a Community Champion Certificate for his work at Saundersfoot Sensory Garden.
The award for Best Front Garden was presented to a property in Fishguard, where the judges recognised the ‘homeowner's dedication to creating an exceptional display that enhances the local streetscape and contributes to community pride.
