A seven-year-old pupil from Manorbier School, will be conducting a charity hair-chop for The Little Princess Trust - proving that kindness is one of the greatest lessons a school can teach.
Despite the sadness surrounding the closure of Manorbier VC Primary School at the end of this term, Year 2 Kahlila Okwedy has chosen to do something incredibly selfless.
She has decided to donate her long hair to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other medical conditions.
Over the coming weeks, Kahlila will be fundraising ahead of her sponsored haircut on July 10, just before she says goodbye to the primary school that has been such a special part of her childhood.
While much has been said about the future of Manorbier School, Kahlila's story highlights what so many parents already know: the school has helped nurture children who are kind, resilient and compassionate.
The close-knit school community, with its mixed-age classes, has encouraged pupils to support one another, be patient, and look out for younger and older classmates alike. Those qualities can be seen every day in the children and are values that will stay with them long after they leave primary school.

As the community prepares to say farewell to Manorbier School, there is sadness, but also immense pride in the children it has helped to shape. Kahlila's generosity is a wonderful example of the kindness, courage and resilience that the school has fostered over the years.
If you would like to support Kahlila's fundraising for The Little Princess Trust, please donate via her JustGiving page at: https://fundraise.littleprincesses.org.uk/fundraising/kahlila-and-the-little-princess-trust
Every donation, no matter how small, will help make a real difference to children and young people who need it most.
