Publicans in Pembrokeshire who might be trying to fight to save a much-loved local from ‘last orders’ are being asked to contact a television production company looking to help British pubs under threat
Each week 18 UK pubs go out of business - and Tom Kerridge, chef and publican, has been tasked with making a primetime TV series for BBC Two about British pubs under threat, with a view to using his business experience and his passion for the licenced industry to work with determined publicans and communities to save their much-loved pubs from closing their doors for good.
Television production company called Bone Soup founded in 2017 by Tom and producer Richard Bowron which has already produced several well received and highly rated series for BBC2 will be behind the project.
In each episode Tom, the landlord and local people would work together to find possible solutions to place the pub back at the heart of the community it serves.
The series would put some of the contemporary challenges facing the British pub under the microscope to explore why so many pubs have closed in recent decades and find out what can be done to save this much-loved British institution.
If you need help with a struggling pub or are trying to save one that’s on the brink of closure, the programmer makers would love to hear your story.
Please email or call the team at Bone Soup Productions with your name, contact details and some information about the pub at: [email protected] or ‘phone 01179064321.
