The Finds of the Month winners at the February meeting of the Pembrokeshire Prospectors Society were: coins pre-1649 (1/2 Real Ferdinand and Eliz, 1497) - John Lee; coins 1649 onwards (William III 6d, 1696) - Phil Jenkins; ancient artefacts (medieval horse pendant) - Steve Richards; modern finds (19th century pewter whistle) - Jim Whyborn; finds outside Pembs (Roman bronze coin AE40 - Pat James; club search (Elizabeth I 6d, 1574) - Gary Davies.

One rally was held in January, and, although the weather was cold, 18 members enjoyed an excellent day out.

The meeting scheduled for February 5 was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. It was, however, held the following Thursday.

The Wales Air Ambulance Charity co-ordinator, Mr. Michael Ashbridge, attended the meeting and was presented with a cheque in the sum of £370 for the charity which had been raised by members attending a rally and holding a raffle.

The chairman, Mr. Jack Tree, presented the cheque to Mr. Ashbridge.

The society meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at the Haverfordwest Cricket Club, Dale Road, Haverfordwest.
