Pembrokeshire Prospectors Society held two search rallies in October. The first one at St. Davids, was a charity rally in aid of The Shalom House Trust, and was well supported with over 30 members present. Chris Holmes was presented with first prize in the Finds of the Month competition for an Edward I silver hammered long cross penny by the landowner, Mrs. Malcolm Grey. Members of the Pembrokeshire Prospectors raised £350 for Shalom, and Mrs. Grey was thanked for making her land available to them. The second rally was held for members of the Young Blind Men's Group, at Scleddau, on land belonging to Mr. G. Cornock. This active group led by Mr. Tom Forgaard is affiliated to the Pembrokeshire Blind Society. About 10 members, plus a dog, braved the cold weather and detected many buried tokens, as well as artefacts and coinage. A good day was had by all, and it is hoped to repeat this rally next year.
