Pembrokeshire’s Scolton Manor Country Park has once been named among the best green spaces in the country, as Keep Wales Tidy today announces the 2026/27 Green Flag Awards.

The 60 acre park and woodland located six miles outside of Haverfordwest has retained its award for another year, meaning it has once again achieved the highest standards in being safe and secure, well-maintained and clean, having excellent environmental management, and being a welcoming place.

It is one of 93 sites across Wales which achieved full Green Flag Award status in the 2026/27 Green Flag Awards. This is an internationally recognised award which celebrates the very best parks and green spaces, so that visitors know wherever there is a Green Flag, they’re visiting an exceptional place with the highest standards.

In addition, 13 green spaces in Pembrokeshire have all been awarded Green Flag Community Award status.

Eleven have kept the accolade from previous years, including Tenby’s Edible Community Garden, New Hedges’ Village Hall and Play Park.

Both Manorbier’s Giraldus Centre and Saundersfoot’s St Issells Old Cemetery have gained the award for the first time.

It will be rewarding and welcome news for Saundersfoot Community Council, who started a new initiative earlier this year at St Issell’s to gently encourage more wildlife — from insects and butterflies to moths — while still keeping the space respectful, peaceful, and well cared for.

Other places from Pembrokeshire featured amongst the Community Awards, include - Brynberian Community Garden; Canolfan Clydau Community Garden; Coast Allotment Project; Dewi's Acre; Fishguard & Goodwick Green Spaces; Hayscastle Community Woodland; Jubilee Park and Nature Trail; Tabernacle Garden Through Time.

These awards celebrate high-quality, volunteer-run spaces such as community gardens and local nature reserves and reflect the dedication of local volunteers in ensuring the spaces can be enjoyed by the whole community.

A total of 237 green spaces across Wales have achieved this accolade for 2026/27, helping Wales retain the honour for the third year running of holding more Green Flag Community Awards than any other country delivering the Green Flag scheme in the world.

In Wales, the Green Flag Awards are run by Keep Wales Tidy, and supported by the Welsh Government.

Owen Derbyshire, Keep Wales Tidy Chief Executive, said:“We are delighted to see so many green spaces in Pembrokeshire recognised in this year’s Green Flag Awards, with an impressive 14 awards in total.

“Congratulations to Scolton Manor Country Park for being the only full Green Flag Award winner in the area and to the 13 green spaces which have achieved a Green Flag Community Award. Community Awards reflect the dedication, time and skills of volunteers who work hard to ensure these green spaces can be enjoyed by all.

“It’s great to see Giraldus Centre and St Issells Old Cemetery joining them with their first Community Awards.

“Green spaces play a vital role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our communities. We'd like to thank everyone involved in caring for these sites for their unwavering commitment to nurturing welcoming, inclusive green spaces.”
