Pembrokeshire ‘Marathon Man’ David Phillips completed his 465th effort last month, when he hit the fundraising road again in London.

An accountant by trade, and member of the Pembrokeshire Harriers and the Massey Ferguson Runners in Coventry, David divides his time with his family living in Penally and Warwickshire.

David completed the London Marathon on April 24 in 5 hours 36 minutes as part of ‘Team Phillips’ where he and his fellow fundraisers were raising money for the Brain and Spine Foundation Charity backed by the Daily Telegraph.

At the post marathon party afterwards in the Hampshire Hotel in Leicester Square the runners for the Brain and Spine Foundation charity met for celebrations, with their founder neurosurgeon Peter Hamlyn and non-running team captain, ex England rugby international Brian Moore there to meet them.

“The whole team has raised over £90,000 so far,” said David.

“Some of Team Phillips were there and I handed over a cheque for £12,000 that we had raised, bringing my total for the charity to £97,000,” he added.
