Looking for fun activities for your kids to do over the summer holidays? Pembrokeshire Leisure is at hand with hundreds of exciting play, entertainment, and sport activities all over the county. The summer holiday programme is being delivered by Pembrokeshire Leisure with the Children and Young People's Framework Partnership, and is supported by the Welsh Assembly's Cymorth Grant. There are free family fun days every Wednesday, with everything from treasure hunts to bouncy castles, live music-making, story-telling, flower and puppet making, pottery-making, and more. The first family fun day was held on Wednesday (July 25) at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre, where more than 300 children and 200 adults enjoyed the activities on offer. The activities were split into four zones consisting of physical, creative, quiet, and games areas. "The important aspect is that children and young people can decide which play opportunity they want to do and how long they want to do it for," said Clr. Rob Lewis, cabinet member for sports and leisure. The next fun days will be held from 10 am to 4 pm at: Pembroke Leisure Centre on August 8; Tenby Leisure Centre on August 15; Fishguard Leisure Centre on August 22; Crymych Leisure Centre on August 29. "The county's leisure centres also have lots of other activities all summer - from free swimming to come-and-try-it sessions," said Clr. Lewis. "The choice is endless." Pembrokeshire Leisure, the sport and leisure division of Pembrokeshire County Council, is committed to providing high quality health and fitness related facilities, opportunities and specialist advice for its customers. This summer the emphasis has been on keeping children and families active throughout the whole of the holiday period. To ensure the best possible service in all Pembrokeshire Leisure Centres, a team of 20 play trained adults (play workers) have gone through vigorous training days to ensure a professional and varied programme of activities takes place.
