Community representatives and voluntary organisations are invited to attend the annual Pembrokeshire Funding Fair at the Queens Hall, Narberth, on November 20.

Organised by PAVS (Pembrokeshire Association of Voluntary Services) and supported by Collaborative Communities, it's a great opportunity to meet funders face to face. National and local agencies, charities and trusts will be present from 10 am until 4 pm to provide information and discuss potential support for ongoing community projects, new initiatives and fledgling ideas.

This is an opportunity to find out if a larger initiative is eligible for Big Lottery funding or meets the criteria for the Welsh Government's Aggregates Levy fund, or maybe a loan from the Wales Council for Voluntary Action would be appropriate. There will be support for smaller projects, too, with a chance to talk to Millennium Stadium Trust and Santander Foundation representatives among others.

Nearer to home, Pembrokeshire County Council officers will be on hand to discuss the Pembrokeshire Community Regeneration Fund; Milford Haven Port Authority officers will outline its community support programme and PAVS will provide information on the Pembrokeshire Impact Fund and Little Green Grant. Environment Wales, the Countryside Council for Wales and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority will be present to discuss plans to increase biodiversity or the potential for installing renewable energy measures.

Sport Pembrokeshire will provide information on local and national funding for a range of sporting projects. Information and advice for arts and media projects will be provided by the Arts Council of Wales.

In addition to the funding exhibition in the main hall, information sessions will run from 10.30 am upstairs. These include news about the Big Lottery Fund; an update on the next round of European funding and a look at Social Enterprise in Pembrokeshire. Advice on obtaining free support from the business sector will be provided by the Pembrokeshire Pro Help Network. Tips on using the latest fundraising mechanism - Social Media – will be provided by Communities 2.0.

This is a great opportunity to meet funders, consider alternatives to grants and ensure a sustainable approach to funding - all for free! Refreshments will be available throughout the day. Contact PAVS on (01437) 769 422 or [email protected]">[email protected] to find out more. Bring a few representatives from your organisation - drop in or make a day of it!
