The Leader of Pembrokeshire County Council, has praised council staff for their exceptional commitment and hard work during the recent spell of snow and freezing weather; and in tackling further severe weather stemming from Storm Goretti.
”Throughout the adverse weather over the last few days, our teams have gone above and beyond to keep essential services running and to support our communities in extremely challenging conditions,” said PCC leader Cllr Jon Harvey.
“I want to express my sincere thanks to every member of staff who has worked tirelessly throughout, and this thanks also extends to our partners and communities for their part in supporting the effort to ensure residents were kept safe and informed.
“Our highways and gritting crews have been out through the night treating priority routes and responding to rapidly changing conditions. Social care teams have continued to visit vulnerable residents, ensuring they remain safe and supported.
“Maintenance, transport, waste and recycling crews, customer service teams, school staff, and many others have adapted quickly to ensure services could continue wherever possible.
““I am incredibly proud of the dedication, professionalism, and resilience shown across the organisation. Their efforts make a real difference to residents, particularly at times like these when the community relies on us most.”
