Members of staff from Pembrokeshire College and Dragon LNG teamed up together to work with local organisations for their annual Make a Difference Day (MaDD) on Thursday, June 30.

Each year, as part of Make a Difference Day, college staff are released to undertake projects that will make a difference to the local communities that it serves and teamed up with Dragon LNG this year to tackle more projects than ever!

As part of the annual MaD Day, college and Dragon LNG staff volunteered their time to improve local communities across Pembrokeshire and took part in activities including creating a giant procession puppet for the Narberth carnival with Span Arts, clearing land at Stackpole with the National Trust, painting sheds at Saundersfoot CP School, cleaning equipment in the yard at St. Aidan’s Church in Wales VA School and helping the Paul Sartori Foundation with their marketing plan.

Three teams from Dragon LNG focused their time on working to improve facilities for Scout groups in Pembrokeshire. 2nd Pembroke (Castle) Scout Hall in Pembroke, 1st Pembroke (Haven) Scout Hall in Pembroke Dock and 1st Johnston Scout Hall in Hill Mountain all benefited from various jobs, including sanding, varnishing, weed clearing and painting.

Additional activities took place earlier in the year, such as helping out at the Charity Horse Show in Bowlings and at Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society’s Fun Day at the County Show ground.

In addition to the flurry of activity, further projects will also take place over the summer holidays, including painting the Esplanade in Tenby and installing playground furniture at Narberth CP School.

Becky Lumlock, managing director of Dragon LNG, said: “We have received fantastic feedback from the various groups we have helped, who have said that we ‘Made A Difference’ so the day was a success! Dragon employees enjoyed the temporary change of roles and all had a sense of achievement at the end of the day seeing the transformation the teams had made.”

Pembrokeshire College and Dragon LNG would like to say a special thank you to all those who took part in Make a Difference Day this year.
