Among matter discussed at the November meeting of the Pembrokeshire Access Group were the following:

Pembrokeshire County Council (PCC) Website: A sub group has been set up to monitor the PCC website and report back to the group. The information gathered will be fed back to the council to ensure that disability related pages are easier to find on the website and to improve access to the site for people using screen readers and other assistive technology.

Accessible tourism database: A sub group has been formed to progress the group's latest project to produce a database of accessible tourism facilities in Pembrokeshire. The database will include holiday accommodation providers, activity providers, entertainment venues etc. It is hoped that the database can be hosted on the county council website or linked sites such as visitpembrokeshire.com

Review of polling districts and polling places/stations 2011: The group was consulted on the current review and a response will be sent to the elections unit. There were some minor issues raised in particular with reference to the provision of auxiliary aids for blind people and people with impaired sight. It was thought that these issues could be corrected quite simply if more training was given to polling staff in this area. Members have been issued with response forms should they wish to respond individually.

Group's achievements: Henry Langen (chairman) presented some of the group's achievements to the Disability Wales AGM in Wrexham on October 21. The beach wheelchairs; the Pembrokeshire Passport; the flush kerbs flyer and the Blue Badge parking flyer were amongst the projects he demonstrated at the AGM. There was huge interest in the Pembrokeshire Passport from across Wales and most delegates took samples for evaluation in their own areas.

New member Alan Thomas from Llanboidy was welcomed to the group.
