Pembroke Ladies Lifeboat Guild have launched their annual quiz (writes Daphne Bush).

The quiz is the brainchild of Guild member Cynthia Field who developed our quiz idea nine years ago. The quiz sheets have raised over £8,000 in the last eight years.

This year, our 2018 quiz launch coffee morning proved to be an excellent idea, raising £300 for the RNLI in just 2.5 hours.

Huge thanks to Cynthia who also distributes the quiz sheets to we members, the libraries, local shops, such as the Corn Store, Mike and Val Mott, our local Main Street butcher, Pembroke 21C, Pembroke Power Station, Angle Lifeboat Station, The Hibernia Inn, Angle, also to her many friends and relatives.

You may purchase quiz sheets from all of these locations or from any Guild member until September 29 this year to be returned by September 30 the closing.

The quiz sheet is printed by Monddi and sponsored by RWE Generation.

Pembroke Guild of the RNLI wish to thank local people, businesses and members photographed for their support and generous donations for this successful sports quiz coffee morning in aid of the charity enabling us to raise such funds.

Our thanks to Capital Roasters Coffee, of Pembroke Dock, for donating their coffee machine complete with coffee, Tan y Castell Foods, for Welsh cakes and Barabrith. We couldn’t have had a more superb combination, thank you both.

Thanks also for the donations of cakes from members and their friends. The cake stall funds were a huge part of the overall amount raised.

The generosity of you all is priceless to we fundraisers in support of the free 24/7 coastal, flood and inland waterway rescue service and seasonal lifeguard service provided by the RNLI in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.
