The organisers were delighted with the local community's response.
In glorious summer sunshine, around 250 people joined in the party atmosphere to the music of talented local group 'Lucky Dice'.
Pembroke Mayor, Clr. Aden Brinn opened the event which catered for all ages. There were children's activities like bouncy castles, bucking bronco, CSI games with the local police, face painting, drawing competition, tombola, visit by the fire brigade.
Older residents were treated to an exhibition by the Pembroke and Monkton Local History Society and there were a variety of stalls.
'There should be more events like this' was the overwhelming response.
Said PNCA chairman Jim Clague: "This has been a marvellous event which has brought the community together.
"While the association wanted to give everyone a good time, the event has had a serious side in that we wanted to gauge public opinion for their views on what is needed for Pembroke North.
"As a result of this consultation, a decent children's playground and community centre on The Green is the resounding message.
"We are a new committee determined on action. People here have been promised much in the past, but funding has bypassed us completely. There has been no investment whatsoever in Pembroke North and we have no facilities. Together, we must campaign for change."
The Pembroke North Community Association is a voluntary organisation of people who freely give up their time for the community.
They meet on a regular basis to discuss issues affecting them all and to raise concerns with those best placed to help.
From September, they will be meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm at Golden Manor School. Everyone is welcome to attend and if you can offer the time to help please contact them.
Added Jill: "In organising this event, we have been touched by the amount of goodwill and support we have received. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those Pembroke traders who have generously donated prizes: Wanton Wax, Lloyds Chemist, Mendus Pharmacy, Objet D'art, That's Nice, Kismet Craft, Candy Caper, Castle Gifts, Browns, Main Street Music, Wisebuys, Dragon Alley, C&N Newsagents, Golden Manor Nursery, Sub Urban, The Room, Bubble and Fizz, Westend Beauty, Louise Burgin Herbalife, Manor Park, Co-op, K's Kitchen, N. E. Thing, Tesco, and our own store on The Green, Cost Cutters Bush Hill Service Station, who generously gave £100 in vouchers and many toys and sweets for the children."
