A Pembrokeshire agricultural show whose finances took a battering after rain hampered last year's event is hosting an evening at the races to help replenish funds.
Pembroke Farmers' Club Show was left £2,000 out of pocket after last year's deluge but is hoping the race evening at Carew Pavilion will raise at least half of this sum.
Organiser Edward Morris encouraged people to pledge their support through sponsorship and by attending the evening on May 24.
"It promises to be an evening of great entertainment," said Edward, of Loveston Farm, St. Twynnells.
"We are hoping that people will come from far and wide to give their support because we need to raise as much money as possible to ensure that we can put on a good show this summer."
The evening will start with live terrier racing and this will be followed by a series of televised races when punters can have a flutter.
People can also pledge £20 to sponsor a race or £5 will sponsor a horse.
"We have approximately eight races and 64 horses," said Edward.
Edward can be contacted on 01646 661247. The evening will begin at 6.30 pm. The terrier races are open to novices so anyone who thinks their dog is up for the challenge should arrive at 6 pm for registration.
