The annual St. Michaelmas Fair will be held in Pembroke between Thursday and Saturday, October 9-10, when Main Street will be closed to vehicles during the following times: Thursday, October 8 - 6 to 11.45 pm; Friday, October 9 - 6 to 11.45 pm; Saturday, October 10 - 2 pm to midnight.
In addition, Main Street will also be closed to traffic on Wednesday, October 7, from 1 to 10 pm, for the safe construction of the fair, and Sunday, October 11, from 6 am to 10.30 am, for the safe dismantling of the fair. (This will only be implemented if considered necessary by the Showmen's Guild e.g. inclement weather).
As in previous years, during the times of the road closure, temporary traffic lights will be in operation to allow two-way traffic along Westgate Hill.
