A South Pembrokeshire factory is to close with the loss of over 100 jobs.
Cambrian Windows at Isaac Way, Pembroke Dock, had been under a 90-day consultation, but on Wednesday, bosses at the UK Window Group confirmed that the closure would proceed.
In a statement, Ray McGrady, group marketing director, said: "The UK Window Group, as a result of an industry-wide reduction in requirements for PVC windows, has concluded a strategic review of our manufacturing sites. The key objective of this was to evaluate our manufacturing footprint and ensure that we remain in the best shape for the future to continue providing customer service excellence, whilst remaining competitive in this very challenging market place.
"As a result of this, it is with regret that we announce the closure of the Cambrian Windows facility in Pembroke Dock.
"The management team have taken all steps possible to explore all viable alternatives to avoid this situation. We have, however, reviewed our footprint and, with the backdrop of the ongoing market reduction, we consider this is the next step in focusing on our future customers' needs and opportunities."
Cambrian will continue to operate as normal until May 31.
Added Mr. McGrady: "Following the closure of the facility, it is our intention to continue to service our customer base from our other fabrication sites in South Wales, offering our customers a seamless transition and continuation of the high levels of service they have come to expect."
Cambrian Windows operates from a 110,000 square foot site. The facility manufactures PVC windows predominately for the retail replacement sector, which are delivered to customers across the UK. Industry figures suggest that the overall volume requirement for PVC windows in the UK has halved since 2007.
